Community guidelines
OneAltar is one sanctuary for believers from every nation, language and denomination. Please help keep it holy, kind and safe.
1. Love one another
- No insults, hate, harassment, threats or mocking of other churches, traditions or people.
- Disagree gently. Pray more than you argue.
2. Never ask for or send money in posts
- No money requests, "send me M-Pesa / airtime", investments, loans, lotteries, crypto or "double your money" offers.
- OneAltar staff and verified pastors will never ask for PINs, OTP codes, passwords or M-Pesa/bank details. Report anyone who does.
- OneAltar has no person-to-person or church giving. The only payments are voluntary platform support through the official options in the “Support OneAltar” tab. Anyone asking you for money on OneAltar is breaking these rules — report them.
3. Protect privacy
- Don't post phone numbers, emails, addresses or other people's personal stories without their permission.
- Share contacts only through Connect, where both people must agree.
- Use "Post anonymously" for sensitive prayer requests.
4. Keep it clean and true
- No sexual, violent or graphic content. No spam or advertising.
- Only list real churches you belong to or represent, with their real website or livestream.
- Livestreams must be your church's own services or content you have the right to share.
5. Fasting safely
OneAltar is not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before fasting, especially if you are pregnant, diabetic, on medication, elderly, under 18 or have a history of eating disorders. Stopping early is always okay.
6. Crisis support
If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services first. In Kenya call 999 or 112, or reach a trusted pastor, friend or local crisis line. A prayer wall is not a substitute for urgent help.
7. How moderation works
- Abusive words are blocked automatically. Posts that look like scams, money requests or that contain contacts or links are held for review.
- Every post, comment, event, church and person can be reported. Content reported by 3 people is hidden until a moderator reviews it.
- Moderators can remove content and churches that break these guidelines.
